AIT Laboratories takes the health of its employees very seriously and has implemented initiatives that make it a premiere wellness company, including supplying each employee with a free gym membership. Among the other initiatives are:
Wellness Month In June, AIT held a Wellness Month that featured free, voluntary health screenings and a company spin on “The Biggest Loser” competition. During the month, employees took one day to walk to talk with co-workers instead of using e-mail, received complimentary healthy lunches, including a salad social, and were treated to healthy snacks in their break rooms. Employees also received nutrition and exercise tips through the company’s wellness blog.
Race For The Cure
Nearly 100 employees from AIT Laboratories participated in the annual “Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure” in downtown Indianapolis in April. The Race for the Cure supports breast cancer research. More than 40,000 people attended this year’s race, making it one of the largest in the nation. In Atlanta, AIT Account Executive Alicia Cimino raised more than $3,000 and competed in the “Race for the Cure” in her city.
AIT Racing Circuit
As part of the company's Wellness initiative, AIT has launched a ten race circuit for employees and their families. Participants compete in a variety of marathons, half-marathons and 5K run/walks throughout the year. The AIT Contributions Committee donates $500 to the designated charity that is associated with each race. AIT employees (r) participated in the Sam Costa Half-Marathon and Quarter Marathon.
Hoops Day 5K
AIT employees participated in the inaugural Hoops Day 5k that was held in downtown Indianapolis as part of the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament. More than 25 employees and family and friends walked or ran the 3.1 miles through the streets of downtown. The event brought fans from all of the Big Ten schools together in a collegiate atmosphere on Championship Sunday.
